Prophetic Revelation: Networking the Nations

Word for the Month: October 2017

Matthew 24 4:14

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

With all the things that are happening today and the way that some of our leaders are behaving, and are being themselves led by others, there has to be an argument for us as Christians, on the one side to actively influence decisions that are made, and on the other to draw away and just keep faith with our beliefs.

You only have to open a newspaper to see and in no particular order :-.

  • Policing at its lowest level for decades.
  • Christians castigated for not supporting LGBT and their biblical beliefs rubbished.
  • A political party in this country supporting opposition to Israel.
  • A rise in the political influence of a party in Germany that led to the second world war and the deaths of millions of Jews.
  • A Government that has been given a democratic instruction prevaricating and delaying decisions.
  • A unelected cartel in Europe attempting to overrule Governments and set up a super power.
  • The rise and acceptance of harmful drugs.
  • The problems of immigration.
  • The leaders of two countries threatening nuclear war with each other.
  • Hurricanes and major disasters.

Whether or not we understand the ramifications of what is happening, it would be very easy for us to look at the above and become despondent and descend into depression, but we have to have faith that all will not be as bleak as it appears. There will be light at the end of the tunnel, a lot of what is happening now will in time become a thing of the past and new issues will rise to the fore.

At the end of the day and the approaching end times we as Christians have the enviable position that non believers do not have. We know the way forward, we know where we are going. We know that whatever happens in this world all we have to do is what is says in Proverbs c3v20

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
