Word for the Month: June 2017

Ezekiel 10:2: The LORD said to the man clothed in linen, “Go in among the wheels beneath the cherubim. Fill your hands with burning coals from among the cherubim and scatter them over the city.” And as I watched, he went in.

A few months ago when we were praying for a new level in the house of prayer, we received this word. We believe that God is preparing His people to touch the cities with His fire. We asked him two questions: How can we get this fire? And how can we scatter it over the city?

Answering the first question, He told us to do regular worship nights with people from house of prayer and receive His fire while being in His presence. We understood one thing: that He wants to give us this fire, but we are responsible for keeping it burning.
Lev. 6:13: The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.

This law was given by God to the sons of Aaron. We are a royal priesthood and now we must take charge of that fire. We can only keep it by spending time in His presence continuously. We cannot allow ourselves to grow cold and drift away from the source of fire. The bridegroom is waiting for us and we must be prepared for any assignment He calls us to do. Without burning coals in our hands we will be like foolish virgins who one day may realise that we have run out of oil: “…our lamps are going out.

Then He answered the second question:
Matt. 10:7-8: As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

GO…. PROCLAIM…. HEAL….. These words were resounding in our heads over and over again. We must go to the city to proclaim His Kingdom but also He told us to heal, to cleanse…, to drive out demons. We always thought that preaching the gospel is one thing and healing and casting out demons is another thing. Perhaps we were afraid to think that these things go together and of taking responsibility for doing both. God started showing us through the Scripture how Jesus and the disciples were doing both of these things together. (Matt.9:35-36; Matt. 10:1; Acts 3:6-9).

That’s why our hands must be burning. There are people waiting in our cities to be free, to be healed and restored by His grace. God is calling us to search out His presence, to touch His glory and receive His fire; and then go to our city and scatter it over them.
