“Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel; I am the Lord your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh” Joel 2:27-28
Israel’s Economy exceeds expectations. In 1948, Israel was considered insolvent economically and indefensible militarily. From 1987 to 2017, Israel’s population doubled; its per capita GDP went from $8,000 to $41,000; its exports, from $10 billion to $102 billion; independent energy resources, from 4% to 65%; life expectancy, from 75 to 82 years. Since the year 2000, Israel’s economy has grown 65%. Rejoice in Israel’s supernatural prosperity.
Feast of Pentecost (Weeks, Shavuot or Harvest) – May 20th – 50 days after First Fruits – the time when Jews celebrate the giving of the Torah at Mt Sinai and Christians celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2). Pray for the veil to be removed from more Jewish eyes and the Holy Spirit to be poured out more and more in Israel.
Nations of the World Scripture shows there will be sheep nations and goat nations (Matthew 25:32). The time for sitting on the fence is coming to an end. Nations will have to choose whether they are for or against Israel. Guatemala, Romania and Paraguay will relocate their Embassies to Jerusalem soon. The Czech Republic has decided to open an honorary consulate. Prince Albert of Monaco visited Israel on 25 April and made an extremely Israel-friendly speech and spoke about his commitment to continue battling anti-Semitism in Europe. Meanwhile Germany refuses to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Pray for courage and blessing for nations who support Israel and for others to follow suit.
Iran and Syria Conflict between Iran and Israel is growing more likely as Iran continues to build up a military presence in Syria. Israel will not allow Iran to set up positions and bases in Syria from which to fire missiles. Netanyahu’s revelations to the world about Iran’s nuclear weapons program have caused upset. Iran has always denied seeking nuclear weapons and dismissed the accusations as propaganda. Pray that all world leaders will heed this wide-spread proof of Iran’s duplicity regarding its nuclear program. Pray that Iran will be completely thwarted in its intentions. Continue to pray for Israel’s safety and preparedness in the event of sudden attacks.
United States Pres. Trump is due to decide whether to pull out of the 2015 international nuclear deal with Iran by 12 May. Trump and Netanyahu say there are flaws in the agreement, and it needs to be entirely done away with in order to make a new one. If this happens there could be repercussions. Pray for the right decision to be made. In a significant policy change, the State Department has ceased to use the term ‘occupied’ in references to various regions of Israel, including Judea and Samaria. Pray that other nations follow this example.
Palestinian Protests Riots on the Gaza border continue. More than 40 Gazans have been killed, many of them terrorists. World media continue to report with bias against Israel. Nakba Day (14th May) events in Judea & Samaria will include riots and mourning over the “catastrophe” of the establishment of the State of Israel. The Gaza protests will continue through Ramadan and spread to Judea & Samaria. Pray for restraint, wisdom and protection.
UK – Labour Anti-semitism At a meeting of the Jewish Leadership Council with Jeremy Corbyn he failed to agree with any of their proposals and refused to adopt the IHRA definition on anti-semitism. Pray for this issue to continue to be dealt with and rooted out of the Labour party.
UK – Al-Quds March On 10th June, the UK-based Islamist group, the Islamic Human Rights Commission, will hold their annual march and rally in London. Pray for the new Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, to STOP this Iranian-backed march and finally BAN Hezbollah in the UK in its entirety.
