Behold, the days are coming that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. And it shall come to pass, that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the LORD.” Jeremiah 31:27-28

Good News items Progress in various types of cancer treatment; 1 billion shekels for digital health project; an Israeli app is helping the French resolve crimes; an Israeli wireless charging system won an international award; at least nine major business deals signed during the PM’s trip to India; more rain has fallen. Give praise and thanks.

The US continues to support Israel and expose the PA’s true agenda. Their recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the defunding of UNRWA are major steps forward. US VP Mike Pence recently gave a very pro-Israel speech at the Knesset. He announced the new embassy in Jerusalem will open before end of 2019. Trump may soon close the PLO offices in Washington. After a tour of the terror tunnels, special rep Jason Greenblatt harshly condemned Gaza’s Hamas rulers. US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Hayley advised the Palestinians to find new leadership if they want a peace settlement. Pray for continued US support, wisdom for them and blessing on them.

The PA is losing ground and credibility. President Abbas told the world that all along they would never recognise a Jewish State or allow them to have a capital in Jerusalem. He engaged in a wild anti-Semitic rant, denying the historical ties between the Jewish people and their ancient homeland. He vowed to go on supporting terrorism and his violent words confirmed a commitment to incitement. He has also refused to meet with Mike Pence or accept a US role in any peace negotiations and now seeks favour with the EU. Pray that world leaders will increasingly see Abbas’ sheep clothing disguise for what it is. Pray for the so-called peace process to fail.

The EU is sympathetic toward the PA but stated that no final status agreement could possibly be reached without American involvement and affirmed that the framework has to be multilateral. The EU has pledged its support for Abbas’ vision of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. However, on 25/1/18 for the first time in its history, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe called for the PA to halt its payments to incarcerated terrorists and their families. Pray that Europe does not give in to manipulation and that no more nations will recognise the PA.

The UK Despite all MPs involved in the parliamentary debate on the issue supporting the Ban of Hezbollah, both Labour and Conservative front benches have refused to support the Ban. The BBC and some newspapers are openly anti-Israel. Anti-semitism is increasing in the UK (and around the world). CUFI has launched a campaign which calls upon the UK church to adopt the International Definition of Antisemitism. Pray that the Archbishop of Canterbury and other leaders will respond positively and the UK will stand more openly with the Jewish people.

Syria Assad has threatened to strike Israel’s primary point of entry, Ben Gurion Airport if Israel strikes again. Lebanon is becoming an Iranian-controlled missiles factory due to Iranian backed Hezbollah activity there. Iran is Syria’s strongest ally and Israel’s most menacing foe. It continues its aggressive missile programme. Russia Netanyahu and Putin meet periodically to ensure the military coordination between the IDF and the Russian forces in Syria. Pray for good relations between Israel and Russia. Pray for control of this delicate and precarious situation, for Israel’s enemies to be restrained, for the safety and security of the northern border. Pray that all Iranian plans and preparations to attack Israel will backfire.

Replacement Theology teachings and writings began in 2nd and 3rd Century to teach that Bible prophecy is allegorical and not literal. This error has led to 18 centuries of Jewish persecution, anti-Semitism, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Holocaust and today’s BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) movement. White House correspondent Bill Koenig reports that today 100 million church attendees in America, and 1 billion worldwide do not know of the Biblical significance of the State of Israel or the times that we live in. Pray that the Church and the world wake up to the Biblical truth of Israel and the times we live in.

Notes on Israel Prayer Points for February 2018

The US These offices serve as a de facto embassy for the PA, despite the fact that under the “Oslo Accords” the Palestinians aren’t supposed to be conducting foreign relations prior to a final status agreement. Greenblatt: “Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other extremists continue to build up their military strength at the expense of the civilian population, causing danger to the people of Gaza, Israel, and Egypt.” Haley re Abbas: “He has rejected any American role in peace talks. He has insulted the American president. He called for suspending recognition of Israel. He invoked an ugly and fictional past, reaching back to the 17th century to paint Israel as a colonialist project engineered by European powers.”

The PA A Fatah (Abbas’ party) Central Committee member speaking on PA TV made a point of clarifying that Fatah has never, ever recognized Israel. The PA has purchased a new luxurious $50 million private jet for its leader Mahmoud Abbas. In 2017, the aid from the UK to the Palestinians was £54 million. This means that more than half the amount of money taken from UK taxpayers and given to the PA to help the poor has just been spent on a luxury plane.

The EU Abbas visited Brussels and called upon the EU member states “to swiftly recognise the state of Palestine”. EU High Rep Federica Mogherini said, “We will continue working within the Quartet, which includes the US, Russia and the UN, enlarging this to a few Arab countries, and possibly Norway.” One of the key purposes of Abbas’s trip was to ask for increased financial aid from the EU which is the PA’s largest donor and supporter. French President Macron said that he would not recognise Palestine as an independent state as a reaction to Trump’s declaration of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Some European nations, including Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, and Slovenia, are reportedly now mulling over not recognising an independent Arab Palestine in response to Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem. According to a recent poll, the majority of both Israelis and Arabs reject the possibility of a two state solution.

The UK Labour MPs were asked by their leadership earlier in the day not to support, but several defiantly spoke out, including Joan Ryan who secured the debate and gave a powerful introductory speech. Both Labour and Conservative backbenchers were overwhelmingly supportive of the whole group to be proscribed. Lib Dems were not in favour of the motion. 81% of the UK public and high level military officials support a full ban of Hezbollah which is the most dangerous terror organisation in the world. The politically correct naivety of our government shows that instead of working to counter terrorism, they are in fact aiding it. Hezbollah is heavily involved in organized crime in the Western Hemisphere. The organization has been linked to drug trade, trafficking of exotic animals, and black-market sales of precious metals and gems to finance its terror activities. On a positive note, Charles Bowman, the Lord Mayor of London was in Israel last week and is looking to strengthen business ties between Israel and London post-Brexit and he has praised the Jewish state. The UK is Israel’s second-largest trading partner.

Syria Israel has struck both Syrian government and Hezbollah targets several times. The latest attack occurred three weeks ago when Israeli aircraft attacked a weapons depot near Damascus. These attacks are ostensibly to prevent Syria from obtaining advanced weapons from Iran and other sources and then passing them on to Hezbollah so they are an act of self-defence. Syria is one of Israel’s most menacing foes. Syria and Iran are the two leading supporters of global terrorist groups that have thousands of longrange missiles pointed at every major Israeli population center yet Israel is so willing to provide medical and humanitarian aid to the Syrian people who are caught up in the continuing cross-border upheaval.

Lebanon PM Netanyahu plans to discuss Iranian support of Hezbollah with Pres Putin of Russia.

Iran has fired 23 ballistic missiles since start of the 2015 nuclear deal, as many as 16 of them nuclearcapable. Critics say the robust missile program shows the Islamic republic is bent on intimidating its enemies and preparing for the day when it can do so with the ultimate weapon of mass destruction. President Trump has threatened to pull the USA out of the Iran deal by May 2018 if European nations refuse to agree to changes. Israel considers Iran to be its most menacing foe.

Russia PM Netanyahu recently discussed with Putin Israeli concerns about any expansion of Iran’s military foothold in Syria. Russia intervened in the Syrian Civil War on behalf of Assad’s regime in 2015. Iranian forces, Hezbollah and other Shi’ite Muslim militias also back Assad. Israel fears Iran could be left with a permanent garrison in Syria, extending a threat posed from neighbouring Lebanon by Hezbollah.
